Let’s face it—When January rolls around every year, most of us are deciding yet AGAIN to get healthy and fit. How many times have we done that? This is number four, no five, no wait… Been there, done that. The truth is that we try so many times, but for some reason it just doesn’t quite stick. For some, it’s just about the exercise part of getting healthy, but we need to recognize that most of us also have hang-ups about our overall health.
So, what are the hang-ups? I asked around the office, and did a little research on overcoming barriers to healthy eating to find out what some common hang-ups are to getting healthy.
Common Hang-Ups to Getting Healthy:
- What I’m eating isn’t THAT bad!
- …But I exercise!
- I don’t have enough time to get healthy!
- I’ll get healthy next week, next month, next year…
- I feel fine.
- I don’t like exercising.
While all of these can certainly seem like good reasons for not evaluating your overall health, it’s extremely important to understand your hang-ups and know how to combat them. After all, how important is your health to you?
The good news is that you can overcome your hang-ups to getting healthy. I found a few tips that can help you understand how getting healthy might take some work, but it’s so worth it!
